Under the water's skin, among the trickling steps, they fade for an instant like airy rain, disturbing the surface up above. They pour down the length of the staircase with crystal laughter, like bubbles through water. At fountain's water membrane they sink through the reflection back into their own gaze, watching them from under the water's skin. Drops. Each day of the year has one and together they construct the story of a thermal palace, a temple of health and fresh beauty.
